This Crescent Roll Taco Bake is a quick, delicious, and family-friendly recipe that combines flaky crescent rolls with savory taco-seasoned ground beef and gooey melted cheese. Perfect for busy weeknights or as a crowd-pleasing dish, this recipe is a fun twist on classic taco flavors that everyone will love. With minimal prep and simple ingredients, it’s a guaranteed hit on your dinner table

Ingredients

1 lb (450g) ground beef

1 packet (1 oz) taco seasoning mix

1/3 cup water

1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough

1 1/2 cups shredded Mexican blend cheese (or cheddar cheese)

1/2 cup diced tomatoes (optional)

1/4 cup sliced black olives (optional)

1/4 cup chopped green onions (for garnish)

Sour cream, salsa, or guacamole (for serving)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

  • In a skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef until fully browned, breaking it apart with a spatula. Drain any excess grease.

Add the taco seasoning mix and water to the skillet. Stir to combine and simmer for 3-5 minutes until the beef mixture thickens slightly. Remove from heat.

Unroll the crescent roll dough and press it into the bottom of a greased 9×13-inch baking dish, ensuring it covers the base evenly. Pinch the seams together if needed.

Spread the seasoned beef mixture evenly over the crescent roll dough.

Sprinkle the shredded cheese evenly over the beef. Add diced tomatoes and black olives if desired.

Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the crescent roll crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.

Remove from the oven and let the dish cool for 5 minutes. Sprinkle with chopped green onions for garnish.

Slice into squares and serve warm with sour cream, salsa, or guacamole on the side

Notes

  • For a spicier version, add diced jalapeños to the beef mixture or sprinkle them on top before baking.
  • Customize with your favorite taco toppings like shredded lettuce, avocado, or a drizzle of hot sauce.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven or microwave for best results.
